My parents bought an SGT100 back in 1981 and I grew up watching movies on it. In 2005 I moved back to midwest and got the old player out of my parents' attic and had it fixed up by John Stevens. I moved to Maryland to take a job at the Library of Congress (and got to see the CED players they use at their AV preservation facility in Culpeper, Virginia). When I moved away from Maryland in 2012, I regretfully decided that my collection and player were just too cumbersome to move with me, so I gave them to a local collector.
As it turns out, that collector moved to Colorado and just this past weekend, as he was traveling through my current home state of Illinois, we met up and he gave me back my old machine. Happily he kept it in good working order and I fired it up last night and 11 years later, it works like a charm! Reunited! |

Well I only got a few of my old discs back, so only like a dozen, maybe?
Looking forward to the workshop in Indy in June - hoping to get some more! |
