I had visited a local RCA dealer a few times to find out more about the CED videodisc system, while I was there on March 11, 1981, I asked if I could buy one of the discs prior to the official marketing date.

They said I could, so I bought the Star Trek TV show disc of The Menagerie.

I didn't buy a CED player until October 1984 (SJT-090 closeout for $169) and in June 1986, bought a used SJT-300 to get stereo sound.

I'm watching my Empire Strikes Back CED with my SJT-300 with the stereo audio decoded to (Dolby) surround sound.
