Just wanted to say hey someone is still out there!

Just picked up my first player - an SJT-300 complete in box, looking almost new. I've been collecting Laserdiscs, Betamax, VCDs, and Video8 tapes and equipment only for the last year but I'm totally in love with the hobby.

Too much time watching the oddity archive, technology connections, and databits, among others, have led to this point. Def splurged on the player during some buzzed ebaying - but no regrets! Also included was the RCA Videodisc Preview CED, a rarer disc it looks like. Cool

congrats, and welcome! chances are the drive belt has perished inside. all you have to do is remove the cover and the geartrane with the belt drive should be at the back left corner. the belt may be a black tar goo that you will have to remove before installing the new belt
