My SKT 400 is exhibiting symptoms similar to those described in Repair Solutions area of site for Improper Turntable speed on the F/G Chassis players(shifting from color to B&W and back again). Any advice for tackling similar problem on this J/K chassis model?

Thanks in advance!

that is a picture you can printout to see if the speed is accurate. I don't quite understand why it states could give inaccurate results if line frequency isn't exactly 60 hz but then goes on to say power companies are supposed to maintain the 60 hz to +/- .1%. Which I believe they probably adhere to that. The main thing with the check is you can certainly tell if the speed is varying which I'd think would be the case if it's sometimes in color / sometimes black and white. The service manual for the 400 is available for free but I don't remember the site. It's not difficult to remove the turntable and clean the bushings and turntable shaft and then re-lube very sparingly and check speed again. Could just be it's dry/dirty. Definitely check the service manual.

Go to http://manuals.lddb.com/CED_Players/ for a copy of the SJT-400 service manual. Hopefully, there is not much of a difference between the SJT and the SKT models.

Thanks much for the strobe printout tip and link for manual! Will take a look at both and see if I can correct the issue.

just remember that the only way the turntable strobe disc will work is under a fluorescent light Cool
