Hi, I am the son of Rick, who you know here as Rixrex. I joined so that I could update you on his condition and to pass along some things he wanted me to say.
First of all, he is finally home ands still recuperatiing. Hopefully he can get online sometime soon himself. The injuries were pretty serious, but I won't go into detail, because he may or may not wish to do that later.
He wanted me to tell everyone thanks for the card that he got and it was greatly appreciated.
He is planning to reduce his CED collection and activities in the future and has a bunch of stuff to let go of. He's not getting out of CEDs entirely but just isn't able to do all he used to do. In the next few days, I'll be putting more information up on what's going to happen.
Once again, I want to thank the CED members here for being supportive of my Dad! |

| Thanks for the update and we are all so glad to hear your dad is doing better. This forum just hasn't been the same without him. Hopefully being home will give him a boost so he starts feeling even better. Thank you again for the update and tell him we all say hello. |

I sent a message off to him earlier this month but haven't heard back lately. I need to take care of all those CEDs they bought to get the Frankenstereo repair donor for me. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

I keep getting no response. He was supposed to have sent me a player back at the first of the year and I have heard nothing, and this is after I sent him my Sanyo to trade. |

I'm referring to his son Chris (Raintree), not Rixrex, but Chris told me they wouldn't be able to get out to my stuff until probably April.
Of course, the temperatuire there just now said nearly 91F? according to the Weather Underground site (not the radicals, the weather site)...or at least 80...my goodness! _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

Raintree, are you out there? I've been trying to get ahold of you and get the Frankenstereo and various discs that came with the repair donor settled up and it would be good to hear back as it's about 9 days until payday... _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

I've about given up on that Frankenstereo 090 and it's like his family just dropped off the radar. I feel badly for Rick, true but it's a bit silly. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |

Raintree,
It's been over a year since this initial post. I hope Rix is doing much better. I'm sure the PT is no easy feat given how serious his injuries sounded. I wish your Dad the best and hopefully we can hear some good news. I just posted some information about the 2016 CED Workshop. It would be great if you or Rix could make it but understandable if that's still out of the realm at this time. Tell you Dad we are still thinking about him. Best wishes.

Chris/Raintree hasn't posted here since December 22. 2014. I don't understand why another capable member couldn't replace the cabinet for the Frankenstereo and I have the same friend that helped me ship the deck to him still willing to bring it back, even though the original shipping ticket is long expired. I even bought a lot of CEDs from somebody who actually knows the family to get the parts deck for the replacement part after the accident. I have a lot more than $50 invested in the project and that doesn't even cover the STYLUS.
The SGT 250 now flashes L all the time anyway. It's hard to have enthusiasm sometimes but I hold out SOME hope still.
I seriously wonder about this.. _________________ A New Vista of RCA Victor COLOR! |
