I am troubleshooting a Model SGT 200 VIDEO DISC PLAYER. Good Video, No Left or Right Audio. On PW 4000, U101, Pin 3 there is no signal. There is a signal (which appears to be video) on PW 4000 J1, Pin 1.
Stake SR on PW 3000 has no signal.
I suspect that the stylus/pick-up arm assembly is not picking up or processing the audio information. The A0 signal should contain the video (it does) and the audio modulated carrier(s). I can find no evidence of a 905 kHz or 716 kHz carrier.
Questions:
1.) Do the capacitance changes on the disc contain video and audio on a single track, ie. the same track?
2.) Might I have a stylus/pick up problem? How do I check the stylus for proper operation?
3.) If I need a new stylus - Does anyone know where I might obtain one? The Stock Number printed on the unit is 149000, however the parts list shows the Stock Number 154100 (Dwg No. 281-2539-515),

the easiest way is to check it with another good stylus. if by "stylus pickup" you mean the picture is not what it should be, you may just have a dirty stylus, which you can get cleaned by cetatum.com

yes the 149000 was superseded by the later 154100, the new style will work in the old models, but not the other way around, the new players are tuned to work with the newer rubber buffered stylus if im not mistaken
