Leonard Nimoy on his less-well-known CED cover for the TV movie Baffled:

And in a stylish white outfit on the demonstration disc for the MagnaVision VideoDisc player, where in true Sci-Fi fashion, he discusses the merits of the system with a pulsating rock:

It's sad to see him go, although expected...Spock, the so-called emotionless alien-human combination who dwelled in only 'logic' was usually the one with the best HUMAN traits of all of them and the most endearing.

Nimoy wrote two books about himself, I Am NOT Spock in 1977 and later I AM Spock...being known as Spock limited him somewhat but I don't think it ultimately ruined his ability to find new roles...being Spock or Spocklike was an extension of who he was and he was indeed FASCINATING.

Nimoy's family came from the Ukraine and were Jewish and this contributed to the legend of Star Trek as well. As he told an interviewer he was a boy attending his synagogue once when a religious ceremony was being perform, much like a chant of wail...it was custom not to look directly at the men , to turn your head and close your eyes but he looked briefly and noticed that they all had their arms outstretched with their fingers branched between the two pairs--you guessed it...the Vulcan 'Live long and prosper' greeting!

I have no doubt that his faith played a huge part in forming the character of Spock.

AND he was a MUCH better singer that William Shatner Laughing

Like my late father, he smoked for a long time, and while both of them quit 20 and 30 years before their deaths respectively, as Nimoy tweeted recently, if you have lung damage already it is too late. He died from COPD and my dad had lung cancer that was compounded from being a mechanic and gas station operator for over 35 years.

PS This and other things must be taking all the fun out of making The Big Bang Theory this year... Crying or Very sad
