I know about that player and I am watching it. According to CEDmagic.com, it uses a 7 button wired remote control. My Hitachi remotes have 6 buttons each which means that they could not be used with this player. That means that the remote for the VIP2000R player may be as scarce as hen's teeth.
If no one bids on the player, I definitely will.

| My worry about an untested player would be the belts and stylus. Like NOS, they may have deteriorated over time or need cleaning. |

If you purchase it and find belt problems, you have the most skilled team to assist you and resources listed on the parent site {CED Magic) to find belts.
The reason others here are watching it is that this is not a common player and a Hitachi player is an especially good find. Ask the seller questions, they will answer to the best of their ability.
As I said, I DO recommend the seller as I KNOW HIM. While that is not any kind of guarantee, I have seen some of the things he has worked on, including an old Panasonic talking clock that uses an interesting system of spiral recordings of a human voice reciting 1-12, 10-50 minutes by intervals of ten, 1-9 for minutes and AM or PM, played with a movable head assembly. It's a work of Marvel and modern electromechanical Art from over 30 years ago.
If he doesn't know, he will tell you so.

I have changed the stylus arm belt and the loading belt on my Sears 934-54780150 player and it is not that difficult a job. The only thing is that the loading belt on the bottom is a touch hard to reach.
I have 2 spare Hitachi style styluses (styli?) in stock so a stylus is not a concern of mine.
I just like the look of the player and it is a stereo model (YAY).

| I actually have the remote for this player. The remote for the earlier Hitachi players had a DIN style plug. This uses a 1/8 mini plug. I purchased this remote on Ebay long time ago not noticing the plug was different. |

I have 2 of the Hitachi remotes and I noticed that their plug will not fit this player.
Could you post a picture of the VIP2000R remote so everyone can see what it looks like?

That is a good question. I have not been able to post pictures either.

You have to upload it to a photo sharing site like photobucket. They then give you many options with different kinds of links. You can post the link here.
Some will have the code ready for you, others are just a direct link that you can change and embed with the IMG code here to make it show the picture and not the link.

When I add the forum code [img][/img] which you can do yourself or I hit IMG code twice at the top of the comment making window and put the link in between, then it does this
This is a link they give that is forum/website ready so you dont need to add anything code wise!
If you hit quote and try to quote my comment in this thread you will see my comment in raw form and can see all the code used for bold, color, and image embedding!

Here are the Hitachi and the Sanyo remote controls, just for the record. According to CEDmagic.com, the Sanyo remote came with the player and was not an optional accessory. I am not showing the second Hitachi remote as it is identical to the one shown.

| I have tried to put the picture on the forum thru photobucket but it just will not display. The only difference is the 1/8 or 3mm mini plug and the addition of an audio button. |
