Okay guys....this has always baffled me. How come on many players when you go to eject the disc from the player the tv screen says "REJECT" instead of "EJECT"??? I am sure it is something so stupid and easy but it makes me laugh every time I see it. LOL....Anyone??

That is a good question. You must be talking about the RCA players. My 3 Sears players have a button labeled RETURN on their front (as in return the stylus to rest position). My SJT200 player has a REJECT button as in "Reject the loaded CED".

My Hitachi remotes have a button labeled RETURN like the Sears players and my Sanyo remote has a button labeled UNLOAD.

I think it was up to the manufacturer as to what to label the button for removing the CED from their player.

I assume that was the "Powers that be" used the word so that if the discs loaded was a bad disc, for whatever reason, the player would "reject" such a disc. Now in hindsight, we know how well that worked, But I would say back then, just a hunch. Smile

If you look up the definition of Reject one of them is "to spew out" and I think that pretty adequately describes what the J/K players did when they got to the end of the disc.

Thanks guys! I think it is pretty funny when we look back at some of the different technology back then.
