I was at the thrift store the other day and came across these:

Some are just cardboard and others are Styrofoam backed but it almost looks like display signage for new CED releases. Has anyone ever come across anything like this? |

Awesome, so do you think I'm correct in my assumption that they're some kind of advertising insert? Any idea of rarity or value? I'm extremely new to the CED thing and appreciate all the info!  |

yes they were display items in rental stores or places to buy ced's, they are rare yes, but still, arent worth too much, depending on the subject matter they are worth about as much as a ced 1-10 dollars, maybe more if its a rare title.
id say airplane and patton are worth like 2-3 bucks a piece, the pink panther, ordinary people, and the other movie, are prolly like 1-2 dollars... i thought they only came in foam, so if its not foam it might be worth a bit more as it is as well, would you be willing to sell one? they are only hard to find because nobody thought to keep them, and thats basically it.
also id be willing to trade you a title off of my sell list for one, even if its a 2 disc title.

| Good find Gordo, I have about 5 or 6 of the cardboard ones and just bought 5 more on ebay. I paid $5 each on ebay plus shipping. I think I paid more than that for the other ones I have, about $8 each if I recall right. They don't come up for sale too often so I try to buy any that I can find. Not super rare but not common either. Your assumption is correct that they were dealer window displays. I've been thinking of getting mine framed and use them as wall décor. |
