I was just watching this documentary on You Tube last Friday; it was the 28th anniversary of the end of CED, so I was thinking about it a lot that day. Just like 4 days ago, that fateful day in 1986 was also on a Friday. I felt depressed watching some of it. I have also read on the cedmagic.com web site that Memories Of Videodisc is one of the rarest & hardest to find discs.

As well it should be, it was meant for the people who made it and loved making it.

It was a depressing movie for me to watch. It's so sad, I can't imagine how those workers must have felt, probably that all their hard work was just down the drain. I hope that they know that their passion and dedication to CED has not been forgotten. 30 years later we are still enjoying their hard work, and appreciate everything they did to give us this wonderful format.

Have any of the past workers or staff ever communicated with this site and forum? A Q and A session would be really neat, if they could spare the time or be found.

Not only that, but probably the death knoll for the original RCA as a whole as it was bought out by GE only a few months later.

But then again, GE only wanted RCA for NBC.

RCA was formed to consolidate radio patents held in the US and protect the US from foreign powers who might be at war with us.

IIRC General Electric was an original partner. The Wabac Machine kinda had a backfire.
