Well, I'll see if I can get it, since it is only about 90 miles away, and I can pick it up. I'll put in a bid later on, and then go through the discs to make a list.

The 090 wouldbe a good pre-player for someone, that's what I use mine for. The other player I'd keep since mine went out on me recently. Remote I don't need, so somebody with a dimensia system can get it if they want.

As it turns out I am in Boston and have been for a few days, I am sitting at the airport waiting for my flight when I saw the add below on eBay. I have contacted the seller to see if this is something I can fit in a Chevy Bronco..(any thoughts??). I don't have 100 disc's yet never mind 450, I can't fathom the size of 450 disc's.
My Brother and Parents still live in the area, I am tempted to buy these for $100 and store them with my brother until I can think of a way to get them to Charleston on the cheep. What can you all give me for feedback, good idea or just alot of trouble?? There are a good bunch of these I want and a large portion I don't want or already have..hmm

Is anyone bidding on the player below, i don't want to bid on something another member is bidding on..I know I have 2 working player coming from Rick soon, but I thought about getting a player that wasn't working on purpose if it was cheep enough. I would like something I could take apart and play with the internal workings and learn something...thoughts?? I will always take feedback.

thanks

judging by the cob webs on that thing it looks like its been sitting awhile... it might have some bad belts in it, there are actually about 3 other players in the same model on ebay now... also free shipping means cheap as possible... i wouldnt trust free shipping on a fragile thing like that

In looking at a few blown up photo's there is even rust visible in the vent...Maybe not a good idea, rust means water damage.

About $58 and shipping in Cedar Rapids...anybody's here or looking for it?

I'm broke...officially and I don't even have Paypal so a 3rd party would be helping if I did want something.

I looked at it, but passed because of the chipped corner. I already have too many with broken corners. Also, the seller is familiar to me, he used to sell a lot of CED players on ebay about 8-10 years ago and knows how to repair them. So if this one only needs a belt, I'm surprised he doesn't fix it and make it work.

The guy with the 450 discs for $100 sold his stuff, said someone just hit the buy it now option. That's a lot of discs hiding in Boston. I have a feeling they may hit eBay soon.

RCA's original Dimensia system from the 1970s - not much related to the 1980s system except in name:

The answer I got back said he had both typed but I was tired and took a long nap...if it's his word that there is a 200...

Why people can't just post things well these days...

Any way there are almost 200 CEDs and the rest are LDs...

I thought this old RCA Colortrak sign was really neat.

It's sad that the color on the sign has faded so much but it's a glorious piece of advertising art none the less. Nice find and thanks for posting it.

Here is another old RCA Colortrak sign. It is also faded & has some wear & tear, but it is another interesting piece of advertising history.

I wanted to buy a pair of Shasta Pop drinking glasses from the seventies but since they changed the checkout page I can't even if he says it was okay to use a money order.

He has a lot of cool memorabilia.

EDIT: (some time later) A friend helped me get the glasses Smile

There's an RCA SelectaVision Random Access Control Center with no bids and about 4 hours left on eBay, starting at $19.00 and located in Renton, Washington.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RCA-SelectaVision-Random-Access-Control-Center-CED-player-/371042857994

PS Before you ask me, I am flat broke and not after it if it's not my medicine or cat food.

What a joke. The shipping charges are way to high. The shipping charges are more than the remote is worth.

eBay's shipping calculator is notoriously bad and you should always ask the seller for a better shipping figure. In act, many sellers encourage this to improve their sales opportunities.

Item relisted with a new number http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=371047591142

This may be because sellers are having a really hard time editing listings etc in the last few daze.

The shipping is more this time but they chose to list EXPEDITED shipping. If you talk to the seller you might be able to suggest Standard or whtever would be reasonable should you win. Sellers have also been complainingh on the site discussion forums that there are next to no bids and the blue box about how many watchers an hour has no match with the stats they get etc...it's a hostile atmosphere vs eBay there right now.
