Hey, guys,

CEDatum has come up with a newly engineered transfer rod coupling that beats the older one by a mile. It's a refined part that still uses the brass pin, but looks better, and is stronger, and has an appearance that matches the original coupling.

This is the part that lifts the transfer rod of the SJT & SKT players, which I often call the disc lift rod, and is connected to the right side gearing assembly. The plastic pin of the part breaks off if the turntable is positioned so that it blocks the lift rod from raising properly.

This is a great part to purchase and have on hand for "just in case" use.

The old coupling they had eventually got brittle or something, so they got a new product made from another material. I had three of the old ones, and the tension of the rod spring itself was enough to break two of them before I stopped.

They had very few left in stock apparently and discovered that those were brittle as well. Then remodeled, redesigned a new one that is really great and it's appearance is just right. It looks like a stock part except for the brass pin.

I never said it, but when I did talk about them they were the new kind with the brass stem and molded plastic part that actually grabs the disc transfer rod. I always forget something haha! I can remember cedatum showing them to me at one of the workshops!

Yes, but that was the still old version of the replacement part. It had a partly translucent molded part. That molded part eventually became brittle.

The new one is one they just came up with in the last few weeks and sent me a few to test out. It actually has a much better molded part that is much more refined and with sharper details and looks like the original part, and is the right color as well.

That is nice that there is a new coupling.

However:

HOW DO YOU REPLACE THE OLD COUPLING WITH A NEW ONE?????

I know the brownish looking one is the old one. I assume the newer one is the one above it that has the original color.

The new one is that one above, as you thought. See how much finer it is and a beter match to the original.

You don't need to replace the old one with a new one unless the old one breaks. If that happens, then the replacement is pretty easy because you then have room to maneuver.
