video 2

and some pics

these 2 cams and the slider that shares the same shaft were all misaligned, causing this to not fully go into load, and not letting it shut off when in the off position

under side pic of turntable disc buffer

sans turntable

turntable height guage ( you have to use a ruined disc to use this tool)

this is why the stylus wouldnt advance... luckily the jesus clip got stuck in the grease!

So is this the one that needs the proper SFT cover? I still have several SFT covers.

Now, you see how you can do things with some reasoning and the help of a manual? I am nominating you to be the East coast repair dude for sure, especially with what you did to get trhe VCR working.

yeap thats the one! i would like to get the nipper cover for it, but for now i think ill live with it since its only cosmetic... im so glad i got these service manuals and tools and stuff, it would kill me to have broken machines and not be able to fix them! i still like working on the j/k's more since they are easier to service lol

i was thinking about asking to be made a moderator so i can make a j/k topic and f/g topic and a hitachi/ other topic for how to, tips and help, and be able to moderate the topics...

Interesting that your E-clip that was stuck in the grease was located at the back of the gear stem, back side of the rear stem-hole. That's uncommon except on Zenith VP2000 models. Most of the RCA models have the two E-clips scross from each other at the front hole with no clip at the rear.

Anyway, those clips are really pretty common at hardware and auto parts stores.
