My apologies if this has been posted before. I have an SGT-100 player and recently it's started doing something weird. When I put a disc in, it won't advance past about the first minute. That is, I put the disc in, it plays fine for about a minute, and then it starts skipping forward a little and backward a little, over and over again. And then it won't break out of that loop, even if I try rapid advance or visual search forwards or backwards. I just have to take the disc out. I've tried out a number of discs and I've tried two different styli, one of which is fresh out of a box, unused. Anybody got an ideas of what's going on here? I don't have anything heavy on top of the machine that would be stopping the arm from advancing, either.

Just wondering. Any input would be appreciated!

This sounds like a worn out servo drive belt, which you may want to inspect by removing the cover from the player and examining the servo mechanism at the right rear. Here's the repair solution on this topic:
