I just got a player from a fellow collector here on the forum, that was packed perfectly. It was an SJT model, and the turntable was packed with those baloon-type plastic packing bags to keep it from slipping up and down. A great idea! Of course, he also had the tabs to keep the stylus arm in place as well.
I thought the idea of the bags was great because this turntable slipping always is a problem in shipping. At the least, it causes the turntable stem to slide out of position and the washer often drops out of the stem hole. At worst, I once got a player with the turntable completely broken out of position and it's edge had severed the motor coil windings, ruining the player.
I plan to always use this method from npw on when shipping SJT/SKT models. |

im very relieved to hear that everything turned out okay, the bubbles seemed to fit in there very snugly and honestly didnt take into consideration actually how helpful they might be. i thought it might have been over kill, but honestly when it comes to shipping vintage electronics i guess you can really never be too careful in packing them... let me know how it plays whenever you get it hooked up, i hope you will be pleased with it... _________________ Sears 274 & 934(80150,10&11350),sft100,sgt250,sjt090,100,101,200,300,400,vp550, VP4000!

| Thanks. The player works so well that it helped me to track down a problem in my TV set. |
