I finally got my CED room repainted and started moving stuff back in. I got my entertainment center set up so I thought I'd post a pic. More to come as I get more set up and pictures on the walls, etc. Thanks.

I have the SJT-400 hooked right up to the video 1 input on the Command Center TV, then the SGT-250 is hooked up to the Sony A/V Receiver which is hooked to the video 2 input of the TV. The tuner on the TV is out so I can't hook anything to the coax input. But as for the Sony STR-DE935 Receiver, besides the SGT-250, I have a Sony SLV-N77 VCR, an RCA Digital Converter Box, and my PS2 Slim to play some playstation and watch DVD's. I'm hoping RJ can hook me up with a Laserdisc player for this setup. Not sure where it will go yet but I will make it work. I was planning on putting CED's in that bottom left spot but I need to get something to put in the back so they don't go back so far.
Well thats what I got going on so far, thanks for looking. |

Hey, that's a nice looking setup! Too bad the tuner is out, you could get a cheaper model betamax player and hook it ut to that. Is it also out when you switch to the cable TV tuner selection?
My RCA TV had a choice of antenna TV tuner or cable TV tuner. But even if place on cable TV tuner, the channels from 2 through 13 are exactly the same as those for antenna tuner.
So if and when you do get an LD player, with that TV, it looks like you could be getting the full-screen LDs and be okay with that, and basically use it as a complement to your CED collection. I always mention collecting the original Halloween on LD since it wasn't ever on CED, but others you could get on LD would include such great complementary movies as Boggy Creek 2, Beyond the Poseiden Adventure, French Connection 2, Godfather 3, The rest of the Friday the 13th movies, the other Scanners films, and so on.
LDs in standard or full screen format are even cheaper than CEDs.
By the way, I sent you photos of Sony LD players, but if you're okay with a single side Sony player, I have a nice one and it's a lot less. |

I hooked the CED player up to the coax input and tried switching from normal ad cable and it doesn't make a difference. I can hear audio but the picture is just black.
I got the email you sent as well with the laserdisc players but I haven't got a chance to study them real well. I wouldn't be opposed to a single side or non-flip player if you want to send me info on those as well. It's not high on my priorities right now, I just wanted to see what you had and how much I'd be looking at for a Sony one. I still need to get another shelf to hold my overflowing CED collection and in the meantime the collection continues to grow. |

Okay, and you did make sure your CED player was on the correct channel, meaning channel 3 or 4 to match the TV, right? And did you try a VCR or some other device too?
Make sure we get a shot of your RCA logo mirror you got from me when you put it up.
Well I have one Sony single side player, an MDP 333, which actually has a nice kind of darker brushed aluminum finish, rather unusual. And has digital freeze frame.
Check it out here:

Just $40 total with Sony remote, a pretty good deal. |

Yeah, I have like 4 or 5 working Betamax players and something like 600 betamax tapes left from closing the shop. Send me an email so I can get a list of them to you.
As far as eating the tape, that's something that won't happen if the player is maintained properly. It usually happens because a belt or roller wheel started slipping and wasn't taken care of initially. |

| Looking good! Is the TV an RCA Colortrak 2000 TV or an RCA Lyceum TV? Also, what is wrong with the tuner? What does it say on the right side of the front panel? |

| I'm not positive if this is called a Colortrack 2000 or not. The right side front panel says Video Monitor, then there is a line under it and under that it says Digital Command. The model number on the back is VJM2023S and says it was manufactured in Sept 1983. Hope that helps. |
