Sourced a stylus locally in good shape and dropped price to 219

The stylus still seems fine when playing other discs. When I play the discs that I will be listing soon (probably as a lot) they all play exactly as expected.

How much does a job like this pay? I would be happy to take it on. I have done an SGT-200 that just needed adjustments and belts, including the short playback/pre-mature return. I have also done that ...

I was not actually aware of the silicone. Wouldn't that be drying out by now though? Could that be why this method HAS worked? Maybe I simply removed dried out silicone coating?

I got the idea after a friend telling me about cleaning records with wood glue. I later seen a video on youtube about the same thing, and it worked well so I though I would give it a try.

The spring was in the stylus arm. You get to it by removing the cartridge, remove the two Philips head screws on either end of the slot, remove the plastic, and the spring will be in plain site closer ...
