CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion

Just watched JANE FONDAS WORKOUT.

The DUAL SOUNDTRACK feature was a nice idea for its time (1982).

There is no great difference, only the picture is a little better, because of the PAL TV System. Its easier to use them HERE, because we have to use the 110/220V transformer to use the US CED Players ...

Ive also noticed such projects in the Netherlands. ( Not CEDs, they are almost unknown here, but old Laservision Discs, the first generation of european Laserdiscs. )

30 years. Quite a lot of CED fans are even younger.
And I thought before, that the average CED collector is at least 60. Wink

Its strange at ebay, they always delete Playboy DVDs and mostly VHS, but only very rarely Beta and Laser, but they have no problems with the CEDs.
Maybe because these are much more tame as the later ...

I like Citizen Kane. But the master isnt in High Definition. I have "King Kong" on LaserDisc too, the original master is only moderate minus. On LD, some scenes are sharper, but you also see ...

Thats correct ! But they lost zillions of $ on this System. If they hadnt postponed it again and again. If they had released it in the early 70s.....

In the Netherlands, Blue Ray is more popular.
In Germany, more new movies are released on HD-DVD. 80% of the new XXX movie releases are on HD-DVD, only 20% on Blue Ray.

The most interesting CEDs Ive found, werent in the CED category at ebay.

But in : Laserdiscs
some were inserted into: other formats, together with vcds
or labelled as "Discovision", but ...

Ive inherited the TED Bildplattenspieler by my grandpa. He had some movies, some were splitted in 8,9,10 parts, because the TED Bildplatte ran only 12 minutes in maximum. He was more in front of the B ...

In Europe, especially in the Netherlands and Germany, the vinyl sales
figures are climbing and climbing.
Some small music stores have even dropped all cds, because of a low profit

Prices vary wildly on CED Players. If you have patience, you can make a good deal. If you want a player FAST, then you can shelve out quite a few
of $$$. But you can find quite a lot of still shrinkw ...

I only know the COMPUVISION company, they produced video games
for the Atari VCS 2600.

But it is listed in the "vapor" list of CEDs probably never released.

Hmmm. I have a Sony Super Beta and a JVC Super VHS.
And if I use High Grade blanks and record in Super Beta and SVHS,
the picture of the Beta VCR is much better. ( Maybe because we have PAL
in Euro ...

I am still searching for some Playboy CEDs. But its only worth the effort,
if you have all of the missing volumes, because postage to Europe is very high.

At a second hand store here in Amsterdam, NL, I found a box with CEDs
for sale, only 1 Euro a piece. The owner didnt even knew, what this was.
He had bought a very large inventory of Laserdiscs, whi ...

And to add: Super-Beta is much better as Super-VHS.
Beta - in terms of quality - was always a big step ahead of VHS.

The stylus only has around 50 working hours, so it should be the volume

Jaws 3-D was never released on 3D on Video or CED or LD, because of the extremely complicated colour 3D system.
There were many 3-D movies released on VHS, but was one released on CED ?

My brother, living in Germany, is interested in the Playboy CEDs. Because he dont has a CED Player, the seller should also be able to copy them
