If this is happening at the start of the disc, i.e., you play a minute or so and then it "freezes", or if you fast forward and then it freezes again, the servo belt in your machine is loose ... |

Open it up and check the belt, which is almost certainly bad based on your description. It could also be slipping. I had to make a spacer between the belt and the back wall to get my SGT075 to work ... |

The CEDmagic page for the Zenith VP2000 says it's essentially the same as the RCA SFT100, so a 149000 mono stylus would be appropriate.
